Gothic Architecture @ Lacock Abbey

Pointed arch

More pointed arches, round windows, turrets. However the pediment above the door and the cornice seem more renaissance-y

Rib vaults

Triangular shaped windows

More pointed windows with buttresses beside.

Rib vaults with keystones. Not sure if the other vaults were unfinished or what?

Round window from the inside. Gave the hall an almost cathedral-like feel
Yesterday I visited Lacock Abbey, a breathtaking abbey/manor house credited as the site of the first photograph and one of the filming locations of Harry Potter. Although my photographs don't really illustrate it, the site is massive and centred around a courtyard. The house itself is also a mélange of different styles so I was finding it really confusing- here I am trying to just focus on gothic architecture to make it clearer for myself. After a brief wikipedia search I have discovered that Gothic style was pre-dated by Romanesque (arches, pillars and domes) and succeeded by Renaissance style (cornices, triangular pediments, Italians) and from my limited knowledge it seems that a lot of the features of Lacock blur through all three of these. For instance, the second photograph of the front of the house seems mainly gothic but the pediment (triangular bit above the door) and cornice (edging between floors) seem like they could be in turn Renaissance and Romanesque inspired/built on. I have tried looking on the internet and am finding it hard to find somewhere that says about Lacock's architectural history... so help me if you can please! :)
